G o o d s t a r t Amy and Jeff Zappia
had no problem decorating their
home outside Pittsburgh—until they
hit the front room. Odd angles and bay-
windows stumped them. “We called it the
‘dumping zone/ ” says Amy. “We threw
everything in there and closed the blinds.”
S t e p h e n ’s s o l u t i o n “Amy
and Jeff’s room needed color and wood
tones for warmth,” Stephen says. The
small room also called for furniture that
wouldn’t overcrowd. A scaled-down
armless settee and a pair of slipper
chairs are a comfortable fit.
